Mainstream success Ĭreed's mainstream breakthrough success came in the mid-1980s with the fresh fougère fragrance Green Irish Tweed (1985). Also, Creed's Vetiver is marketed to have been created for "one of America's leading families, a political dynasty now known worldwide for its energy, vigor, and impeccable style". Creed claims that Tabarome "was commissioned by a legendary British statesman who loved fine brandy and highest quality cigars" but this is without historical confirmation. Popular culture Ĭreed has stated that it has created perfumes exclusively for celebrities and well-known political figures. In February 2020, the private equity group BlackRock announced that it would become the majority shareholder of Creed. Creed also has other high-profile creations in its catalog such as Angelique Encens, which was said to have been originally created in 1933 for the Bishop of Paris. Its release date is unknown, although bottles are still in circulation. Olivier Creed's first eponymously named fragrance was a traditional eau de cologne with matching aftershave. It claims to have risen to fame in the mid 19th century under Henry Creed as tailors and habit makers for the fashionable dandy Count d'Orsay, Queen Victoria, and Empress Eugénie, who issued the firm of Creed & Cumberland a Royal Warrant for tailoring articles. So I'd save buying a flacon only if/when you plan on sharing it with others.James Henry Creed supposedly founded the House of Creed in London in 1760 as a tailoring establishment, however, the earliest evidence of Creed's existence hark from the late 1960s or early 1970s. We get tired of even our favorites and want to move on to something different and new. If you are also thinking about eventually buying up to 20 different fragrances, I wouldn't think it would be very likely that you would wear anything multiple times, day after day and week after week. As I have gotten more and more into fragrances, and having so many choices, there is simply no possible way that I would wear the same fragrance day after day after day. I wound up buying the 4 oz bottle instead, and I've never been sorry for that decision. But the reality typically is.that love will not last, at least not to the degree it is now. When you're really in love with a new fragrance, you figure you'll STAY in love forever.

With the negligible cost difference, my first thought was that the flacon was clearly the way to go because it was so much cheaper per ml. When I first got into fragrances, I looked at the cost of a flacon compared to a 4 oz. So I'd like to know, if any of you guys have experience with Creed flacons. And since I have plenty of fragrances already, I think I'd need at least 6-7 years to "consume" 250 ml Aventus (I would use it as often I can, of course). I'd buy a 30 ml atomizer too, which I would refill around 8 times. I know that a properly stored fragrance doesn't expire fast, but I'm not sure if it's safe to buy such a huge amount of juice just for myself. In my case (Aventus), the 250 ml (8.4 oz) flacon would cost "only" 295 €, which actually means: half the price (100ml) of the juice in the 75 ml bottle. Over here in Germany, the 75 ml (2.5 oz) bottle (there's no bigger) costs 170 € (cheapest guaranteed original Creed)įlacons are not common in this country, but it seems that a few stores just started to sell them. Aventus (sampled and like it), but it could be anything else, that's why I didn't use the sub-forum. I'm planning to buy my first Creed fragrance.
